Reading Tutoring For Kindergarten - 1st Grade Students

Bright Horizons Learning, LLC, Phonics Program gives elementary reading help to students to support recognizing letters and sound association in order to develop fundamental phonics skills. Students are introduced to consonant letter sounds that are easy to pronounce and less often confused with similar letter sounds.

When entering the second half of elementary school, students go through a rapid evolution away from the foundations of reading and are required to form a deeper understanding of different texts. This change can sometimes become overwhelming for many students at this age. Whether you’re looking for your child to get caught up or to get ahead in their reading, our dedicated and diligent tutors help discard any concerns and work on building skills that create confident and resilient readers.

As students enter Middle school, their knowledge of reading requires a major adjustment from what they may be familiar with in elementary school. Their workload gets substantially more difficult along with their schedules and extracurricular activities. Strong and developed reading skills are more critical than ever to succeed in the classroom as they are expected to analyze and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the information presented in texts for all of their subject matter. This amplifies into the ability to identify the main ideas and supporting details of various texts and readings.

At Bright Horizons Learning, LLC, we understand and want to prevent this the late nights and dreadful stress that comes with the more challenging homework assignments and more demanding exams in Middle School. To do this, our tutors work with students on using roots, prefixes, context clues and suffixes to define unfamiliar vocabulary, as well as to understand and draw valid conclusions to the meaning of provided texts. Grades and 21st century skills are more critical than ever to getting into college or trade school, but teachers give out assignments with texts that may as well be in a foreign language.

With our TC Reading, our diligent tutors assist our students to break down complex texts and phrases into more comprehensible and digestible parts by defining unfamiliar vocabulary words and helping them to analyze abstract and vague meanings. Bright Horizons Learning, LLC believes that learning should be individualized and therefore there is no one-size-fits-all. Our tutors get to know your child and their specialized learning style, strengths and the areas in which they could use that critically important confidence boost.

When your child signs online for their Reading lesson, our tutors at Bright Horizons Learning, LLC, will greet them on a personal level, sketch the goals of the lesson, and then do what they do best: teach. Based on your child’s last session and their overall understanding/performance, a new lesson is specifically-designed to take their skills further and help them catch up, get ahead, and become more confident in their phonics.  

Our Phonics tutors then spend the rest of the session engaging in example questions/problems with your child, allowing your child to then work independently to show that they have retained the important material and then talk through those matters in which your child might need more instruction and support, with the ultimate end-goal of subject-matter mastery and becoming an independent learner.
