We are looking for qualified, enthusiastic tutors for the following areas:
Available Subject Areas:
1. Music (Guitar, Piano, Voice)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music or related field (preferred).
- Proven proficiency in guitar, piano or voice instruction.
- Experience teaching students of all ages (K-12 or higher) and skill levels.
- Patience, creativity and an ability to inspire musical talent.
- Experience in all styles of music and Music theory.
- Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required for skilled musicians.
2. Visual Art
Qualifications:
- Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Experience with a variety of mediums (painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, etc.).
- Ability to teach fundamental art techniques and encourage creativity.
- Experience working with K-12 students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
3. Math (Grades K-12)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching math concepts from elementary through high school levels.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple, clear and precise way.
- Strong understanding of common core curriculum and high school math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, etc.).
- Prior tutoring or classroom experience preferred.
4. ESL (English as a Second Language)
Qualifications:
- TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification (required).
- Experience teaching English language learners of various ages and backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills and patience in working with non-native English speakers.
- Familiarity with language acquisition strategies and assessment tools.
- Experience with virtual teaching is a plus.
5. Foreign Languages (Spanish, French, German, Polish, Italian, English)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Linguistics, Education, or a relevant foreign language field.
- Proficiency in the target language (native or near-native fluency).
- Experience teaching language learners at the K-12 level.
- Ability to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural context.
- Prior experience with virtual teaching and language immersion methods preferred.
6. Reading & Writing (K-12)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching reading and writing skills to students of all ages.
- Strong understanding of literacy development and reading comprehension strategies.
- Ability to teach students writing mechanics (grammar, punctuation) and creative writing skills.
- Familiarity with standardized writing tests (e.g., SAT/ACT writing sections).
7. Phonics (Early Literacy)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience teaching phonics and early reading skills.
- Knowledge of literacy development in young learners.
- Ability to make learning phonics fun and engaging for early learners.
- Prior experience with virtual teaching is a plus.
8. Test Preparation (SAT/ACT)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, Math, Science, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of SAT/ACT test content, format, and strategies.
- Strong knowledge of IB (International Baccalaureate) Exams and AP (Advanced Placement) Exams.
- Proven track record of helping students raise their test scores.
- Ability to teach both content review and test-taking strategies.
- Prior tutoring experience is preferred.
9. Homework Assistance (K-12)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, a subject area, or related field.
- Experience providing homework help in multiple subjects, including Math, English and Science.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to help students stay on track.
- Ability to work with students to develop effective study skills development, note taking and test taking strategies.
- Patience and an encouraging teaching style.
10. Science (K-12)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) or Education.
- Ability to teach science concepts across elementary, middle and high school levels.
- Experience working with lab experiments, interactive learning tools, and virtual science lessons.
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards and general Science Curricula.
- Prior tutoring or classroom experience preferred.
11. Social Studies (K-12)
Qualifications:
- Degree in History, Social Studies, or Education.
- Ability to teach U.S. History, Modern World History, Geography, Civics, Government and Politics, Economics and Society and other Social Studies related topics.
- Experience with middle and high school students.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills to engage students in discussions and analyses.
- Prior experience with virtual teaching preferred.
