Our tutors break down complicated Math concepts into manageable pieces that students can understand, one on one with a live math tutor. Students then begin to understand and master one fragment at a time with the help of step-by-step individualized online math tutoring, building a strong foundation upon which each subsequent unit is built upon. This combination of specific skill instruction and ongoing in the moment assessment is crucial to understanding, shaping, enriching and ultimately maintaining Math proficiency of K-12 Math help for students of all ability levels and grades.
Teachers College (TC) Math provides early learners the fundamental building blocks to become confident in math. Students first learn to distinguish numbers from 0-100 before progressing to basic addition and subtraction skills. The principal key to students’ success is then developing a basic understanding of the properties of these numbers (0-100) and how they work with one another. With our tutors’ individualized and hands-on approach using tangible math manipulatives, TC Math will give your child an edge in math and newfound confidence at this early stage.
· Recognizing Numbers 0-100
· Writing Numbers 0-100
· 0-20 Adding/Subtracting Math Facts
· Number Sense

· Skip Counting
· Word Problems
Teachers College (TC) Math is set up in order to develop the crucial math skills your child needs to succeed in elementary school. Students first demonstrate understanding and master basic computational operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, before then engaging with conceptual math – which refers to understanding the basic ideas and "why" behind mathematical operations, rather than just memorizing procedures. (E.g. grasping that a fraction represents a part of a whole, allowing them to visualize and reason about different fractions, even if they look different numerically, instead of just knowing how to perform calculations with them mechanically, word problems, multi-step problems, real-world applications, etc).
· Problem Solving Skills
·Carrying/Borrowing/Regrouping/Renaming
· Money & Time
· Multi Digit Multiplication & Long Division
· Number Sense/Place Value
· Fractions & Decimals
· Data Interpretation
In middle school, students learn deeper and more complex problem-solving math skills. Our knowledgeable tutors help our students to grasp a full and comprehensive understanding of the concepts and how to apply them conceptually and pragmatically in a real-world application setting rather than just memorizing facts.
· Pre-Algebra & Algebra 1
· Integers
· Slope and Coordinate Planes
· Ratios & Proportions
· Order of Operations
· Surface Area and Volume
· Multi-Step Word Problems
High School students can sometimes get frustrated and discouraged with their challenging and complex math courses because they lack confidence and experience with the foundational computation and problem-solving skills that are crucial to their success. Our diligent tutors, help the students in TC Math work towards mastery and to have a deep understanding of key concepts in order to lay a strong foundation for higher-level math courses as well as college level math, such as Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics.
· Pre-Algebra
· Algebra 1
· Geometry (Honors)
· Algebra 2 (Honors)
· Trigonometry
· Pre-Calculus (Honors)
· Statistics (AP)
· Calculus (AP)
Bright Horizon Learning LLC believes that learning should be individualized and therefore there is no one-size-fits-all.
Our tutors get to know your child and their specialized learning style, strengths and the areas in which they could use that critically important confidence boost.
·
When your child signs online for their Math lesson, our tutors at Bright Horizon Learning, LLC, will greet them on a personal level, sketch the goals of the lesson and then do what they do best: teach. Based on your child’s last session and their overall understanding/performance, a new lesson is specifically-designed to take their skills further and help them catch up, get ahead and become more confident in Math.
Our Math tutors then spend the rest of the session engaging in example questions/problems with your child, allowing your child to then work independently to show that they have retained the important material and then talk through those matters in which your child might need more instruction and support, with the ultimate end-goal of subject-matter mastery and becoming an independent learner.
